Can't he just lure the Ronbots from Digg over to the dark side to do his bidding? I'm sure they miss spamming their blather all over the web.

I am sure we can hack this. Sign up, post our own "pro-McCain" posts (I know he has changed his position on this issue repeatedly, but I am sure he stands firmly behind his position now...) and then we can collect free Mcbumper stickers, and modify them with our favorite sharpie!

Maybe we can send our spammers that are always trying to sell Viagra and Geritol over to McCains site, they might find more support over there...

True, but spamming is sort of on the "dark side" of utilizing the internet.

I don't see it so much as spamming as just trying to get McCain supporters to try and educate the undecideds. It's not like there are set messages you're supposed to employ repeatedly, they're just being asked to discuss their support for McCain - not just in person but on the internet too.

Need some type of quickie auto-reply for these potential 'McSpammers'.

Webster's International defines 'McSpammers' as:

'...any person or entity posting junk messages supporting the Presidential campaign of John McCain. (Republican)

Which is fine and dandy as long as the comments pertain to the post, video, or news story. Otherwise, it's completely irrelevant.

Which I'm sure we all know what it is; I'm just placing the generic definition for easy access for people like me who like being technical. ;) While the definition focuses on email, posts and comments on sites have become no exception.

In conclusion, unless if McCain supporters are incredibly sly and manage to keep on topic with whatever they're commenting on while promoting McCain (which I would still see as holding spam undertones), it's just spam to the rest of us.

Voters who are pro and anti Obama both tend to support the campaigns revolutionary efforts to harness internet advertising power, the support isn't just exclusive to your typical Obama supporter. I am an Obama supporter and earlier in this comment thread stated that it is smart that McCain is asking that his supporters chat about their support with others.

Lets try to not generalize here.

I think this is probably the only rational answer in this "debate". The abuse that both sides heave upon one another only serves to fill the pockets of cable news agencies that make their living off of the constant fighting between the constituencies of both parties.

I don't know about the computer illiteracy part, but Obama's is the only one of the three with a section devoted to foreign policy. Obama's site has much more content.

Think about it, everyone I know over 50 years old is computer illiterate. Hillary and Bush/McClain are included in that group. The only reason Hillary knows her URL, is because Obama demonstrated one aspect of his digital vision teaching his competitors about the new way to independently fund political office.

Every technologist should be motivated to vote Obama because he wins on technology issues hands down among other things.

You probably don't know too many people over 50. I'm 53, 20 years as a software engineer. Signed up for cable modem 1st day it was available in my area. I don't know many over 60, though, even including bosses I had in the computer industry. (see the guy with the pointy hair in Dilbert)

I am 51. I wirewrapped my first 6502 computer before there were any, same with the 8080 back in High School (1974) and programmed it myself in Machine language, then CP/M, Altair BASIC, 86-DOS ,...every MS Product, Every Apple. Same with my brother (he is 62)

However my Dad at 84...now that is a whole different story...Zero computer knowledge and does not want any.

I'm almost 60, first computer was an Atari 800, first modem was a 110 baud that plugged into the game port.

I don't know anyone under the age of 60 that doesn't have a computer and use the internet.

I loved my 800....That thing was awesome.....Seemed like the ultimate computer to me, glad I want for that one instead of the 400 with those horrible keys.

The "real" keys were the selling point for me.. The 400 felt like a toy.

Apple, Commodore and Atari were MUCH better computers for home use then.

Ugh...Peanut...The Famous PCjr what a waste of $700 for Chiclet keys, a thing that looked like Mattel made it, and everyone else's computer would run all of IBM's software and the Peanut would only run some of it..Great invention...
