Cindy McCain will 'never' release her tax returns

advertisement

During the 2004 presidential campaign, Republicans demanded "disclosure and transparency" in the form of Theresa Heinz Kerry's tax returns.

Voters left in the dark about Cindy McCain's massive fortune — estimated to be in the neighborhood of $100 million — will stay that way, she says, even if she goes on to become first lady.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

"What is John McCain trying to hide? Throughout this campaign, he has acted like his own calls for openness and accountability apply to everyone but himself. Now he thinks he can bring that same double standard to the White House," Dean said in a statement Thursday. "John McCain may not like it, but the American people have a right to know about the well documented links between his political career and the McCains' business ventures."

McCrazy keeping the tradition of secrecy going in the WH.

Another reason why Cindy McCain will 'never' be First Lady.

This could hurt McCain, because it will be seen as hiding something, especially in light of the fact that the other candidates and their spouses have already released theirs.

I certainly hope so, Dennis.

Talk about elitist.

You know, that whole 'elitist' thing leveled at Obama really puzzles me.

Isn't that a good thing? I want an elitist president. I want a president who's going to surround himself with only the best people, expect perfection in their performance of their job, rely on only the best intelligence...

I mean, we're talking about the President of the United States!

'Good enough' isn't good enough.

I think the difference is between elitist and elite. I agree with you, I want an elite President, top of his class, surrounded by others at the top of theirs.

An elitist, on the other hand, is (IMO) someone who thinks he/she is better than everyone else who has less money than themselves and usually they have inherited their wealth, not earned it, and is certainly not the sharpest knife in the drawer.)

OK, then I'll rephrase.

I want an intellectually elite President, who is elitist about intellectual ability.

Not a snob.

She's a very interesting woman.

She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these countries on a detonation team and service on their board.
...
In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh. Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems. ...
She's active with "Halo Trust" - to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.

    whew!!!

Now, don't forget, John is McCrazy so we really can't rely n what he says. She could be a perfectly lovely person who does not deserve to be the First Lady if she can't come clean with her finances.
